2018 Green Power for Green Spaces
In 2018, we partnered with McKinley Park Horizon Science Academy (HSA) to facilitate a multidisciplinary project on energy and sustainability for HSA’s high school juniors and seniors. In this project, students designed and constructed five solar arrays to power various electrical systems in community gardens around Southwest Chicago—communities in which the students and their families live and work. This project was made possible through a grant from the Epstein Community Foundation.
2017 Mural
El Paseo Community Garden revitalized their beautiful outdoor community space thanks to 50×50 Neighborhood Arts Project Grant through DCASE and the 25th Ward Alderman’s office. For more info about “El Abrazo” click here.

Expansion
In conjunction with the rails to trails project “El Paseo” we are hoping to expand our garden to the area highlighted in purple. In time, we hope to include a food forest, urban farm, green house, lush green open space, nature play area for kids, a patio with a pergola, a brick fire pit/grill, new shed, and more raised beds.
